I’m watching a TV show set in the Wild West. Guys, it looks like a rough time. I don’t think I would have made it back then. There was an episode recently where one of the characters asked:
“What’s the world coming to?”
And my favorite character responded:
“World ain’t coming to nothin’ son. Same as it ever was.”
In light of the horrors in our country in the past few months, I’ve been thinking a lot about this quote.
I’ve been thinking about the tower built all those years ago by a people convinced that they could build their way up to God.
I’ve been thinking about the people so deceived that they sacrificed their sons and daughters to the demons.
I’ve been thinking about the way the crowds used to cheer as they watched people torn apart by Lions in the arena; the way they used to walk down roads lit by human beings set on fire to be used as torches.
I’ve been thinking about gas chambers in Germany, and soldier children in Rwanda and all the other atrocities of the past 100 years.
And I’m thinking about Gosnell.
And I don’t really know what to say.
Except that the world ain’t coming to nothin’. It’s the same as it ever was.
It’s a place filled with people whose every intention is only evil continually. It’s in need of a Savior. In need of redemption. And restoration. And desperate deliverance. Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus, come.
