The right refuge

So thankful to all those God gave to help me prep and to pray for Him to move on Tuesday night during my time with the women from Breakaway.

Romans 1:11-12 kept ringing in my head as I drove to College Station on Tuesday.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you—that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. (Romans 1:11-12, ESV)

I wasn’t sure if I was ‘ready’ to teach, but I knew one thing: I needed to be encouraged.  So I went to teach because I trust this verse.  I believe God when He says that as you and I pour out His Spirit to one another we ourselves are poured into.

So thankful for the women who came up afterwards.  You strengthened my faith.  You confirmed for me that God didn’t leave me on that stage alone; that He didn’t leave me to prepare alone, and that He always knew exactly what He wanted to say.

Thankful for truth that doesn’t ever change.  Even when we don’t feel like it’s true: it’s always true.

Our God is the right refuge.
