I once heard a writer give the advice that you should turn off music while you write. Because, sometimes, music makes you think your writing is better than it is. With the right soundtrack, everything feels epic and inspiring. In the silence, sometimes your writing falls a little flat.
But, some things written in silence make their own music. There are some words that - as you write them - make sense of you; they bring clarity and endurance to the deepest part of you. They settle and stir your soul at the same time.
I don’t feel that way about my writing often, but I do feel that way about an essay I published this week on Medium’s Long Covid Connection. (Linked below).
I can’t make you read it, but I wish you would. :)
And if you do -I hope and pray that these words settle and stir you too. I hope and pray that they help you to fall in love with the glory of the creation that is you.
